I need a minute to rant about my blackboard experience. I should be doing my homework, but I have plenty of time to blog right now because I cannot even access the site where all of my course information is being held.
For those of you who do not know what blackboard is let me explain. It is something that ASU (and many other universities and colleges) use to communicate with students. I have all of the classes that I am enrolled in on it, each with it's own page. On that page is the syllabus, list of assignments, rubrics, discussion boards to communicate with other students in the class, and places to submit your assignments.
Obviously this is something important that I need to access. Well this school year, they decided to "upgrade" the system. They have been having issues since the week before school started with this. It is constantly saying that blackboard is temporarily unavailable. So frustrating when you are trying to do homework! It has only worked a handful of times for me. Well I have an assignment due by midnight tonight for one of my classes. I also have lots of other stuff I need to be working on for other classes if I don't want to get behind. Well it is down. Again. They sent out an email earlier today saying they were sorry for all of the problems but it should be working agian soon. NOT. Just sending an email doe snot make it all better!

A distant memory
Seeing you fills me with a mix of emotions. I am consumed with saddness. Saddness because of how close we used to be. How at one point, I called you on a daily basis, told you every detail of my life, you told me about yours, supported eachother in goals and life, laughed over the dumbest things. For six years I called you one of my closest friends. Now I see you across the room, we steal a glance, and then quickly look away, pretending as if all of those years of memories never really happened.
Do you know I am hurting? Do you care? Are you hurting too?
Things could never be the same. You betrayed me. You changed. You used me. You hurt me.
That does not mean that I do not miss the memeories. The fun that we had together. Too much of a history to just forget about. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed with the urge to call you. Tell you about something that happened in my life that at one point we would have laughed or freaked out over together. But I can't.
Friendship break ups are harder than relationships sometimes. Especially becuase they usually last longer and you have so much trust and time invested in them. We had more than just a friendship. We were involved in eachothers lives so much. Shared the same activities. I think I miss that the most about you. That passion we shared together. Something i can do with others, but it never really is the same. That was a huge part of my life, and now it is no longer.
It is hard to move on from a frienship. After you get over the initial hate and anger from what they did to you, you then remember the good times and the sadness hits. That is where I am now. I will move on eventually. But you will always be in my thoughts and memories.
I wish you well my old dear friend. I am walking away with a trail of tears in my tracks.

First Day Jitters
Today marked my very first day in the Professional Teacher Program at ASU. I only had 2 of my 5 classes today, but I felt like enough happened that it was worth blogging about!

So off to my next class. I have to drive to another location for it. I walk into this elementary school and into this classroom with a jolly old man greeting me. There are books, colors, pictures, and kid things everywhere. I continue to walk in and see that there are 5 tables, all with little kid chairs around them. You know, the ones that are for little people under 3feet tall. I then see that I will be sitting in those chairs during this class. Oh man. The class begins and I already love it. It is teaching language and arts (one of my favorite subjects!) and the teacher is hilarious! He is goofy, corny, a huge dork, and knows it! I can't wait for that class again.
I already have a list of homework that is due for next week and I am about to start it! I really want to stay caught up, if not ahead on all of my homework and projects for this semester. I am determined to get straight A's. I know that I am capable of doing it as long as I put forth the effort. I have no excuse because I will be working less and am doing something that I love.
I am such a dork, but I love school and am so excited! I will definitely have to blog about the next 3 classes. Two on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. I also find out my placement for my internship tomorrow at a meeting. Hopefully I get something good!

A week off work?
It has been a long summer! That is putting it in a nutshell for you! I have been working my butt off and not requested any significant time off. So I actually got some PTO and am taking a week off before school starts! It has been amazing so far. It has been so nice to relax and spend some times with friends that I haven't had a chance to see in a long time. Also, since I got my financial aide, I was able to have extra money to do some things that I have been putting off for a very long time. Don't let people fool you, money does make things easier, and therefore happier. Haha. No really. Obviously there is more to happiness than money, but it definitely makes life easier and less stressful! Wish it was always like this! But I need to be good and save! I had my shopping spree with Beth on Saturday. I still have a few more errands to run, but it feels good to be so productive! I have been on the go since my vacation started! But it is a better on the go then just working, that is for sure!
Did I mention that I am getting a massage tomorrow? Because it will be phenomenal.
Honestly, I am really excited for school to be starting. I will be going and getting the books that I need for my classes tomorrow. Besides that, I am pretty much ready! I got some supplies today and already got new clothes. I am such a dork and put it all together tonight. I feel like I am still in elementary school! (I will be again soon!! yay!) I went today to go get another background check for my internship. I know that they don't want creeps in the schools, but seriously. So much!! But it was fun to go down to the district office. It made me feel so old! But excited to start my new career. Is it graduation yet? 21 more months to go for that... not like I am counting or anything... haha
I just finished watching Mr. Holland's Opus. What a fantastic movie. It makes me miss playing my flute a lot. I am also obsessed with the song Someone to Watch Over Me. Love Love Love. (Click on the song title to listen to it if you haven't heard it before.)
I feel like I should have a lot more to write about. But I can't think of anything really that significant to put in here. That may mean I am boring, but that isn't always a bad thing, trust me!

The Bachelor
I have a guilty pleasure: The Bachelor. I love it. I know that it is silly, but I get a joy out of finding out who will win and definitely seeing all of the hot men that are on it! Well last night was the season finale of the Bachelorette. My favorite, Chris, was let go before the end. I felt so sad for him! If I could pick a dream man, it would be him. I know that he will probably be the next Bachelor. Now, if I was about 50 pounds thinnner, and a lot richer, and done with my degree, I would totally apply for the show so I could compete with other women to win his heart. So I thought it would be fun to see exactly what you have to do to apply. It was more crazy than I actually thought!
They ask for your height, weight, hair color, eye color, age, passport, how much money you make a year, where you went to school, what degree you got, where did you grow up, any crimes, arrested, ever filed for bankruptcy, what kind of alcoholic beverages you drink, if you have been married, details about it, children, are you genuinely looking to get married, ideal mate in terms of physical attraction and personaility, how many relationships you have been in, how and why the ended, hobbies, unique talent you are most proud of, 3 adjectives that describe you, tattoos, accomplishment you are most proud of, why havent you found the man of your dreams, 15 pictures, close ups and full body, a video of yourself.

These are the eligibility requirements:
All applicants must sign statements acknowledging that they have read, understand and will comply with all of the following eligibility requirements ("Eligibility") of "The Bachelor" or “The Bachelorette” (collectively the "Program") in order to proceed with the application process:

("Producer"), Next Entertainment, American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., and all other subsidiaries and divisions of The Walt Disney Company, Telepictures Productions, Inc., and all other subsidiaries and divisions of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., Time Warner Inc., all Program advertising, promotional and judging agencies, Program broadcasters and distributors and all other companies associated with the production, administration and/or exhibition of the Program and/or any of their respective licensees, assigns, parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, divisions, and joint ventures as well as (a) the immediate family (spouse, ex-spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, regardless of where they live), and (b) members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers, directors and agents; are not eligible to be the Bachelor or any of the bachelorettes on "The Bachelor" or the Bachelorette or any of the bachelors on “The Bachelorette” to participate in this application process. In addition, any applicant closely acquainted with any person connected with the production or administration or exhibition of the Program is not eligible if, in Producer's sole discretion, the person's participation could create the appearance of impropriety.
2.Applicants may not presently be a candidate for any type of political office ("Candidate") and may not become a Candidate from the time the application is submitted until one (1) year after first broadcast of the last episode of the Program in which they appear.
3.All applicants must be United States citizens or resident aliens living in the United States or foreign citizens who can travel without restrictions to and from the United States.
4.All applicants must have a passport valid for one (1) year following the submission of the application and must be able to obtain any visas and/or documentation required to: a) travel without restrictions to and from the United States and b) travel without restrictions to and within the European Union.
5.All applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of application.
6.All applicants must be single. To qualify as "single" the applicant must not currently be involved in a committed intimate relationship, which includes: any marital relationship (whether or not the parties are separated or currently in the process of divorcing or annulling such marriage); any co-habitation relationship involving physical intimacy; or a monogamous dating relationship more than two (2) months in duration.
7.Applicants must never have been convicted of a felony. Applicants must never have been convicted of a misdemeanor or ever had a restraining order entered against them, either of which were based in whole or in part on the commission of one or more acts involving moral turpitude or violence, as defined by the Producer in its sole discretion.
8.All applicants understand and acknowledge that participation in the Program, including, without limitation, the activities and events arranged by the Program coordinator, may expose applicant and other participants to the risk of death, serious injury, illness or disease and/or property damage. Applicants must be willing and able to participate in physical activities such as: skydiving, snow skiing, ice skating, parasailing, water skiing, rollerblading, and the like. Applicants must sign a release attesting to the fact that the applicant understands and knowingly and willingly agrees to assume such risks. Applicants understand that by submitting this participant application (the "Participant Application"), applicants acknowledge that they accept and assume all risks known or unknown of any nature (including, without limitation, the foregoing) that may arise in any way from or relate to applicant's participation in the selection process for and/or participation in the Program.
9.Each applicant acknowledges, understands and agrees that Producer may disclose any information contained within or derived from his or her application to third persons connected with the Program and to compile information from third parties in connection with such application and the application process about applicant's private, personal and public life, personal relationships with third persons, confidences and secrets with family, friends, significant others, including without limitation: physical appearance; personal characteristics/habits (both physical and mental); medical treatment/history (both physical and mental); sexual history; educational and employment history; military history; criminal investigations, charges and records; personal views and opinions about life, the world, politics, religion, and the like (collectively, "Personal Information"). Applicant acknowledges and agrees that Producer may reveal such Personal Information to third parties in the course of the application process and/or the Program and that Applicant releases, discharges, and holds harmless Companies (as defined below) from any and all claims and damages arising from such compilation or disclosure of Personal Information.
10.Each applicant acknowledges, understands and agrees that he or she, if chosen as a bachelor or bachelorette on the Program, may be audio and/or video taped twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week while participating in the Program by means of open and hidden cameras, whether or not he or she is then aware that he or she is being videotaped or recorded (collectively, "Recordings") and that such Recordings may be disseminated on television and/or all media now known or hereafter devised, in any and all manner throughout the Universe in perpetuity.
11.Applicants acknowledge, understand, and agree that Companies (as defined below) use or revelation of Personal Information and Recordings as defined in these Eligibility Requirements may be embarrassing, unfavorable, humiliating, and/or derogatory and/or may portray him or her in a false light. Each applicant agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless the Companies from any and all claims (including, without limitation, claims for slander, libel, defamation, violation of rights of privacy, publicity, personality, and/or civil rights, depiction in a false light, intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, copyright infringement, and/or any other tort and/or damages arising from or in any way relating to the submission of a Participant Application, participation in the selection process, participation in the Program, the use of the Personal Information or Recordings and/or the use of the applicant's name, voice, and/or likeness in connection with the Program, or the promotion thereof in all media now known or hereafter devised. Applicants are required to sign Releases to this effect. "Companies" as used herein shall collectively mean AND Syndicated Productions, Inc., Next Entertainment, American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., all other subsidiaries and divisions of The Walt Disney Company, Telepictures Productions, Inc., all other subsidiaries and divisions of Warner Bros. 12.Each applicant acknowledges and agrees that he or she is not and will under no circumstances as a result of the submission of a Participant Application, participation in the selection process, participation in the Program, the use of the Personal Information or Recordings and/or the use of the applicant's name, voice, and/or likeness in connection with the Program, the promotion thereof in all media now known or hereafter devised or for any other reason in connection with his or her application and/or participation in the Program, become an employee or an independent contractor of the Producer and/or Companies and will not make any claims against Producer and/or Companies, including, without limitation, claims for compensation, derived from any allegation of status as an employee. Each applicant acknowledges and agrees that his or her relationship to Producer and/or Companies is and shall be limited solely to that of a grantor of rights.
13.Any applicant who has appeared on any primetime television reality show such as, without limitation, "Survivor," "Big Brother," " The Apprentice," "Elimidate," "Amazing Race," "American Idol," "Extreme Makeover," "America’s Next Top Model," “Rock of Love,” “The Real World,” “Make Me a Supermodel” etc. . . or is involved in the current production of any such television show must disclose such information in his or her application and may, at Producer's sole discretion, be deemed ineligible to participate in the Program. If any applicant is currently being considered as a contestant and/or participant in a primetime television reality/game show, he/she must withdraw his/her application from such competing show upon Producer's request.
14.All applicants must authorize Producer to conduct a background check, which may include, without limitation, a credit check, a military records check, a criminal arrest and/or conviction check, a civil litigation check, a family court litigation check, interviews with employers, neighbors, teachers, etc. All applicants must sign the attached Authorization to Release Personal and Confidential Records and Information.
15.All applicants who are selected as Semi-Finalists to be on “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” must be available to travel to Los Angeles for further interviews. (Location and date to be determined and are subject to change in Producer's sole discretion).
16.All applicants who are selected as Semi-Finalists must complete and timely return the "Semi-Finalist Package," which may include, among other documents: a Medical History Form and Authorization (which form should be completed by Applicant and his or her own physician at Semi-Finalist's own expense); General Release and Indemnity Agreement; Confidentiality Agreement; and Background Check Authorization Form (all forms will be furnished to the Semi-Finalists). In the Authorization, General Release and Indemnity Agreement, the Semi-Finalist agrees to assume the risk of any and all injury, illness, damage, loss, or harm to Semi-Finalist's person or property of any kind, howsoever caused, arising from or relating to the submission of a Participant Application, the selection of Semi-Finalist, the Bachelors’ and/or Bachelorettes' participation in the Program, and/or the production and/or exploitation of the Program.
17.All applicants who are selected as Semi-Finalists and to travel to Los Angeles may be required to undergo physical and psychological examinations and testing (to be conducted in Los Angeles by qualified personnel selected by the Producer) and meet all physical and psychological requirements, as set by Producer in its sole discretion.
18.Semi-Finalists shall treat all information and materials received or acquired about Producer, Companies, the selection process and/or the Program, as strictly confidential and shall not disclose or otherwise disseminate any such information to any third party. Semi-Finalists must sign a Confidentiality Agreement in the form presented by Producer.
19.Upon Producer's request, all Semi-Finalists, Finalists, the Bachelor(s) and/or Bachelorette(s) must agree to sign any additional releases or authorizations that Producer, in its sole discretion, deems necessary.
20.Bachelor(s) and Bachelorette(s) must be available to travel and participate in "The Bachelor" or “The Bachelorette” for selected days over a six (6) month period for one (1) year following the submission of the application, and to participate in taping additional Program materials and in promotional activities for the Program for selected days thereafter upon Producer's request. (Dates and/or location to be determined and subject to change in Producer's sole discretion).
21.Bachelor(s) and Bachelorette(s) must agree to live, participate and cooperate with the other individuals and the Producer during the taping of the Program. Bachelor(s) and Bachelorette(s) must be able to travel for long periods of time, must be adaptable to various living situations, and must enjoy participating and living in close proximity with others of varied background and experience.
22.The Bachelor(s) and The Bachelorette(s) must report and be available to participate in the Program at all times and places as Producer shall designate.
23.Applicants understand and agree that the Eligibility Requirements may be changed, modified, or amended by Producer in its sole discretion from time to time.
Basically this is insane. So Hopefully I can just find a guy as amazing and hot as Chris in real life! I don't want to sign away my life and all of this just to do that! I hope it is easier than that!

Time sure does fly!
Wow! It is August! Hard to believe. The summer is mostly over. I am sad in some ways because I will be so busy with both school and work. But I am mostly excited because I am ready for school and to finish my degree! Plus I will only be working 4 days a week now! yay! It will be the first time I will be able to do that in years. Hopefully this semester will go a little easier for me this way. I will be able to focus more on school.
My little brother turned 21 Thursday. Wow! It is insane he is that old! That makes me even older! ha! I took him out to Mill Ave for his birthday. I felt bad because most of his friends are not old enough to go yet and I wanted him to have a good time. So I offered to be the DD. Let me tell you... I think I am getting too old to go out like that anymore! The next day I was so tired. So instead of having a crazy night, I went over to Beth's house for a chill night in. We played with her daughter (<3), and then went out to eat dinner. And then we went to the store and bought all of the ingredients for homemade apple empanadas! I had to make them for a pot luck at work. Such a fun night! Baking is way more fun when you are doing it with your best friend! And they turned out fabulous! Everyone at work absolutely loved them! They said it was the highlight of the entire meal and all wanted more! Maybe I should cook and bake more often.. I would really like to. It is just that I dont have a lot of time and my kitchen so sooooo tiny. No really haha.
I feel like I am really boring with nothing that new or entertaining to write in here recently besides this. I feel sometimes like this blog should mean something. Have a theme like Julie and Julia. But then I remember, this is just me. Kinda boring with little bursts of excietment and cheesy randomness!
