Wow. I am 24. I am an adult. When did that happen? And how do I make it stop?
When I was a little girl looking at my future at the age of about 24, I thought that I would be married to a prince and living happily ever after with him and our 10 children. When I was a little older, I thought that I would be playing my flute in the Disney symphony (I will still admit, that idea was the most fun by far). In high school, I thought that I would be graduating from law school at this point and getting a job as an awesome lawyer with a super hot doctor boyfriend.
Fantasies are so much better than reality, right?
No prince, no symphony, no law school. I am still in college working towards my bachelor's degree, working at a movie theatre, living alone, completely single.
I miss being a little girl. Having all of those dreams and knowing that any of them are possible. I could fantasize about where my life would go and who I would become. I could make a smile and possibility out of any situation. Working with kids now has really re-opened doors back up to my past and imagination. I wish that I still had that innocence. I cannot begin to tell you how much I miss it.
Reality isn't that bad though. Neither is getting older. With age comes much wisdom. I am finally finding who I really am as a person. There is no way that I could get to any goal or dream of mine if I did not know who I am. It makes me so glad that I know what I want. I look at things differently now. I take moments in, enjoy the small things in life. I am able to look at situations rationally and from other perspectives.
It is okay that I am still in school. Hell, the fact that I still am in school is a great thing! There are so many people that I know that have not gone to school, and that not would have gone to school if they were in my shoes. I am so proud of myself for continuing forward with this and reaching my goal. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I will be graduating college at the age of 25. Later than what I had planned, but I am still doing it. I will be graduating with a degree that I love and will be able to pursue a career that I will be happy in.
I am completely independent. I have my own apartment. I pay for all of my own bills. I pay for all of my leisure activities. I do all of that by maintaining a full time job. Not a ton of 24 year olds can say that they do that completely independently. That is something to account for.
I may not have reached all of the goals in my life that I had thought I would by this time. I am happy though with how I have dealt with life's curve balls. I never expected for my life to turn out like this. That is something I have learned with age, it never happens how you want. It really is how you deal with life that makes you the person.
I am getting over this quarter life crisis. Happy that I am who I am today. Every moment has lead up to me as a person. I will continue to grow and change. I look forward to it. I am welcoming the age, for it brings wisdom, new experiences, and change.
Here is to my 24th year... hoping it brings happiness.

Where are you Christmas?
Driving home from the hospital visiting Beth's newborn baby boy (Don't worry, a post shall go along with this story line as soon as I get some more pics of the cute little man!). This actually made me think. I really miss the "Christmas season feeling". I have been so consumed with school, work, and other day-to-day stresses that I am having a hard time finding this. I really hope that I can get into the spirit this holiday season because it truly iis the best time of the year.

Patrick
One of my very closest friends is moving away. Not just a few hours away. But he will be moving to another country. He will be moving across the country for a few months first, and then will be heading to France. I am so excited for him, he has wanted to do this as long as I have known him. He is going to do great things there and have the time of his life. It is amazing that he is making his dreams come true and I admire him so much for that. Of course, I have to have my selfish moment and be sad that he is leaving here though. I am going to miss him like crazy. Even though we don't see each other on a regular basis, we are there for each other when needed. We always make time to have a movie or dinner date when we can. I can tell him anything about everything.
So with him leaving, I want to take this opportunity to recall a few fond memories that I have of us together! Now, this is just going to be a handful, because we have eons of them.
~ We met in the 7th grade. Mrs. White's honors math class at Highland Jr. He was one of the very smart kids in class. I wasn't and took advantage of our friendship! I actually even tried to hook him up with one of my friends!
~ He was my very first kiss. We were 13 years old the summer before our 8th grade year. It was super awkward and terribly bad. We both had braces and it was his first kiss as well! We even went and got Popsicles of different flavors and then kissed again to see if it was weird! I am glad we have both gotten better! Haha!
~ One night in high school, we went over to our friend Eric's house and stayed up the entire night dancing to songs that were dirty! I definitely got some fun dances from the boys! (Promise it stayed PG-13!) Then we went outside and watched the sunrise on the trampoline and fell asleep.
~ He got me the job at Harkins! He started working there before me and told me how awesome it was. Needless to say, he makes fun of me for still being there!
~ We played a duet at a solo and ensemble competition. I played my flute and he played his oboe!
~ We love to go out dancing together. He can move his hips like no one I know! He also has no fear of what others think of him. It is what makes dancing with him so much fun.
~ Sewel Garden night with Saki freshman year of college.
~ Driving around and listening to Mariah Carey singing at the top of our lungs.
~ Mandy Moore choreography in front of my mirrors
~ Wengs dates (Oh how I miss that place)
Oh, and of course, an excuse for a vacation! ;)

Election Day
What does being an American mean to you? I can tell you that most people would say "freedom" along with me in answer to that. Well, what exactly does that freedom mean? I think so many Americans have become complacement with that word that they forget what it really means and how we got to be that way. As an American you have the freedom of speech, you can say whatever you want about the president of our country and suffer no reporcutions for it. You have freedom of press. You have freedom to choose your religion. You have freedom to own property. You have freedom to dream and be who you want to be. You have the freedom to choose your officials. You have the freedom to choose what kind of life you are going to live. You have the freedom to choose what laws will pass that directly effect you and your family.
All of those freedoms cumulate to voting. You have the RIGHT to vote for these things. You are not dictated or run under a communist country. You have the right to have a voice. You have the right to decide how your childrens' lives will unfold. YOu have the right to vote on the education. You have that RIGHT.
Voting effects everyone. People vote on laws, propositions, education, taxes, leaders, etc. For those of you who say you "don't care because it doesn't apply to my daily life", seriously? How does it not?
Some say that they are not educated in politics. As an American, you have the access and ability to become educated. That is a sorry excuse. It is not all politics. Most of it is just laws. What do you feel is right? The voting ballot explains each one. And for those people who are unable to understand what words mean, then they should vote for better education so that their children have the opportunity to learn that.
Last night at work, I asked some of the staff if they were voting today. NOT ONE even knew there were elections today. NOT ONE even knew what was even being voted on. I about died when I heard that. When I explained that they should go vote to express their rights as an American, they all just said they did not care and had no interest. How can one have no interest in their own future? That just baffles me. I hope that the state puts more money and emphasis on education so that the future of America can be educated on politics and the importance of voting. Maybe then we can get the youth to actually care about our nation and themselves. It scares me to think of what the future has in store for us.
Only 18% of Americans vote. I cannot believe this number. Can you imagine the uproar that would happen if our rights as voters got taken away!? All of a sudden that 82% of Americans would care and be outraged. Kinda funny, right? Not. Just think of how you would feel if you had no say in what happened in our country. If you had no freedoms. If you had to follow a dictatorship. How happy would you be? Let your voice be heard. Every voice counts. I don't care who you vote for, just vote!
If you voted today, thank you!
If you did not, why? Become educated. Ask questions. Register. Express your rights as an AMERICAN and honor those who fought and died for you to have this right.

Travelling
I am almost a quarter of a century years old and I have never left the United States. America is the land of the free, the melting pot of the world, an amazing place to live. I just feel so uncultured by never having left here. There is so much beauty in the rest of the world. I want to explore. I want to see the things I have read about. I want to see the history I am so fascinated in. I want to do the things I have only been able to dream of.
I look outside and see the same thing everyday. I see dirt and sun mostly. Houses that in a row look the exact same, "cookie cutter" houses or so my mom used to call them. I am so sheltered in my environment. I see the same types of people, scenery, weather, stores, food, etc.. I am ready for a new adventure in my life. I doubt that I would ever move overseas, but I wish that I had taken up the opportunity to study abroad. I am always so jealous of my friends who have had the guts to do so. I would have done it in a heartbeat if I had the financial means to.
I am such a chicken. I wish that I could pack up my things and backpack through Europe. I would start off in Italy, the place I want to visit more than any. I would go from town-to-town, just living everyday that I could. I would take in everything, try new foods, take pictures, learn new things, have a steamy romance with a man who didn't speak any English, get vintage clothes, oh so many things I would love to do.
I look at pictures and it physically hurts that I have not been able to go. This is at the top of my bucket list in life.
The man I marry better be ready to take an adventure with me, because I will go to Europe many times in my life. I am still young and have many opportunities to still go. I would love to go there on my honeymoon. How romantic would it be to take a gandala boat ride at sunset through the streets of Italy?
I am such a helpless romantic. And Europe allows you to do so. I was meant to be European.
Who wants to start the "Send Ashley to Europe fund?"

Lame Friday Night
I am officially an old, boring woman. I had a day off, a day off I tell you! This is a very rare occurrence in my life anymore. My life that is filled with interning, school, and work, oh my! I am on the go from dawn til way past dusk. I couldn't believe it when I heard I had this glorious day off! So many things I could accomplish! I could see my friends, I could go out, I could go dancing, I could sleep in! Sadly, my pathetic, old self did not do much of anything fun.
It looks just like me, right? I think the blue eyes adds a wonderful touch haha. I think it would be fun to go blond, but I am just not sure. The up-keep for it would be insanely expensive, plus I may look like a Mexican Hooker... something to think about. Oh, and plus it would murder my beautiful, healthy hair. But, I could use some fun blond jokes to get me out of ridiculous situations I tend to put myself in. Ahh...
Back to reality. After spending an awful amount of time doing that, I finally got my rear in gear! I got all of my laundry together and headed to my dad's house. Such the inconvenience. Luckily for me, my friend Katrina said she would come over and give me company while I waited for my laundry to clean. We decided we were starving so we went and got Barros. Yum. But, I cannot eat like that again in a long time! I have been so good about being healthy! Also, my wallet is starting to feel the effects of eating out so much. I need to cut back so I can keep that wonderful thing called a savings account a little while longer.
After a phenomenal fatting dinner, I decided to drag Katrina along to help me look at an apartment I had been eying on the Internet. You may be asking why I am looking so soon? Well, I don't want to repeat history and make a bad mistake again! I hate the place I am living in now. I want to be happy where I move because I would like to stay there for a decent amount of time, at least until I graduate from school. I also have things that are a MUST have: washer and dryer, bigger kitchen, no bugs, no ghetto. Simple requests, right? Well, I went and looked at the apartment and loved it! And, there is a place that opens up in December, perfect timing! I just want to go and look at a few more places before just to be 100% positive in my decision so that I am happy. I am glad I have time to make a decision.
At my dad's again. Finishing up laundry and he comes home. I was watching "Say Yes to the Dress", a fantastic show about women buying their wedding dresses. My dad was all "what the hell are you watching?!" I laughed and told him he better be saving up to buy me a wedding dress! He laughed and made sure to remind me of the fact that I am not even dating anyone right now so he has plenty of time to worry about that. Thanks dad. I had totally forgotten that my love life is lower than pathetic right now.. it is non-existent. Lovely.
Back home. At last. Wait, not at last. That means I have to put away said laundry. Oh, and clean! No! Say it isn't so! But, as I said before, today is my only day off, which means I need to do it. So, in true domestic fashion, I put the sweat pants on, roll up my sleeves, and start scrubbing. Literally, I scrubbed the floor. My aunt Cindy would be so proud! 5 hours later... laundry is put away, floors are scrubbed, everything is dusted, dishes are done and put away! My apartment now smells strongly of bleach and my nose is running due to the amount of dust that flew up in it. I should probably do something about that!
It is now almost 1am. Why am I writing a blog? Who knows. I should shower since I smell of lovely bleach and dust. I also would like to go to bed at a decent time since I need to be up tomorrow to do homework that I didn't do today. I also want to continue reading the book "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It is really good so far and I would like to see what happens next! Sadly, I get about 2 pages done a night and then promptly pass out from exhaustion.
Well blog world. I think it is time for me to continue with my old woman night, shower and lay in bed and read. Hope the rest of you had a banging night (that's what the kids are saying these days, right?)

Sick
Why must I always get sick at the most inconvinient times?? I swear... it only happens when I am super busy and have tons of things that need to get done.
I woke up yesterday with a raw throat. So I chugged some airborne (nastiest tasting stuff ever, orange tang). It made me feel better for a few hours. I went in and interned, and then went to my first class of the day. By the end of that class, I was feeling awful. I left about 20min early so I would have time to go to the store and get some throat losengers to make me feel better before the next class. I luckily had enough time to take a quick cat nap in my car and suck on some halls. Went to my next class, took a midterm, after class put together a presentation, ran a few errands, and went to work. Got to work and instantly felt like hell. I had to scrub bathroom floors for inspection (in my nice clothes since I didn't have time to go home and change). I left there, came home and felt soooo sick. I took some Nyquil and passed out.
I didn't make it to my internship today. I slept until 1pm. Then napped again until 430pm. Of course, getting nothing done that I needed to. I had to go to class for at least a few today because I had a presentation for one of my classes I had to give. Luckily, I was able to leave and come home after. Got home, ate some soup, napped, and here I am. Finally up from the couch for at least a few to check a few things.
I don't think I will be interning again tomorrow. No reason to get others sick as well. I do have class tomorrow from 1-730 though. Hoping I feel better by then! I can't even do any homework right now. My mind is not all there since it is doped up on medicine. I would like to do well on my homework. I am feeling all sorts of scatter brained.
I think that it is time to sleep again. This hour awake has been a lot haha

The Willow Tree
As a child, there is always that "magical place" you can go. It is a safe haven. A place where your imagination can run free, where you can be anyone you want to be. My place as a child was the willow tree in my backyard.
I grew up in small town in Illinois. We had a little yellow house on an acre yard. That yard was a child's dream. So many places to run, things to do, adventures to make. Out of all of the places, there was on that was my favorite. It was in the back corner of our yard, right next to the corn field that it backed up to. In that corner, there was a beautiful, ancient, magical willow tree.
I would go back there every chance that I got. I would walk up to the tree and open up large gates of leaves into my magical place. As you walked in, you were engulfed with green leaves, sparkling gold as the sun shone through them. I would lay on the smooth grass underneath and look up towards the heaves through the leaves. It gave the sky and life a whole new perspective. I would fantasize I was somewhere different, as a princess in my own hidden land. I would pretend I was a beautiful bride waiting for my prince charming to come save me from the evil monster. Then we would get married under the leaves of the willow tree.
No one went under the tree with me. It was mine, all mine.
I have no pictures of that beautiful tree. I went back to visit that house a few years ago, and that tree is no longer there. When I buy a house eventually, I would love to have a weeping willow tree in the yard. Alas though, I no longer have such a vivid imagination. I lost that as I got older and also lost my innocence. I have tried to hard to regain that imagination. Nothing I do can bring it back.
I wish I still had that weeping willow.

Flipped
This movie is a MUST SEE. It may be my new favorite movie. It was beautifully made, sweet, innocent, funny, sad. I am buying the book as well. If it is even a fraction as good as the movie, I will be so happy :)
Juli Baker devoutly believes in three things: the sanctity of trees (especially her beloved sycamore), the wholesomeness of the eggs she collects from her backyard flock of chickens, and that someday she will kiss Bryce Loski. Ever since she saw Bryce's baby blues back in second grade, Juli has been smitten. Unfortunately, Bryce has never felt the same. Frankly, he thinks Juli Baker is a little weird--after all, what kind of freak raises chickens and sits in trees for fun? Then, in eighth grade, everything changes. Bryce begins to see that Juli's unusual interests and pride in her family are, well, kind of cool. And Juli starts to think that maybe Bryce's brilliant blue eyes are as empty as the rest of Bryce seems to be. After all, what kind of jerk doesn't care about other people's feelings about chickens and trees? With Flipped, mystery author Wendelin Van Draanen has taken a break from her Sammy Keyes series, and the result is flipping fantastic. Bryce and Juli's rants and raves about each other ring so true that teen readers will quickly identify with at least one of these hilarious feuding egos, if not both. A perfect introduction to the adolescent war between the sexes.

The 5th Grade
I finally got to start my internship this last week! It was such a mix of emotion to start. I was beyond excited to get into the classroom and apply things that I had learned, I mean, this is what I am going to school for, nothing better than handson training. But I was also very nervous! I have never done anything like this before!
To make it there on time, I had to wake up at 530am. For anyone that knows me, knows that was death. I got there and met my teacher. She was super friendly and greeted me with a hug! I was glad she was nice and welcoming. We went and got the kids from the playground to start the day. It is amazing how fast the memories come back about daily routines of elementary school that you totally forgot about.
We went about the things of the morning, checking homework, planners, questions, etc. I forgot how small 5th graders are. I guess I remember being more mature than that haha. From there they went to their "special", library. I got to see all of the works of the 5th grade. We planned for the next lesson, talked to other teachers. It was a little overwhelming! Remember, it was my first day!
So when they got back in, we started working on math. I got sent to the hall with a group of 3 kids who were strugglng with the concepts to help them out. Things were going well at the beginning... then one of the girls got upset because she was not understanding and it was lunch time. So she started crying. Panic rushes over me. I wasn't taught what to do in this situation! The other two kids with me informed me that this is a normal thing that she does and not to worry about it. I am sure that they saw the panic in my eyes trying to decide what to do about the situation! Luckily, math time ended soon and I got out of that situation!
The rest of the day went off with no other problems. After spending 5 hours in the classroom, I had to go for 7 hours straight of actual class. I was EXHAUSTED. I don't know how i am going to pull this off. I feel like I have 2 seperate lives. One at school and the other at work. It is like I have 2 full time jobs and full time school. The rest of my week involves lots of work, interning, and school. Of course I have no break or day off to rest. It just keep going. I am getting overwhelmed. I closed tonight at work and have to open again tomorrow. Ugh. I am putting off going to bed for at least a few so I have at least a little "me" time.
I better head to bed now though. Have to be up soon for another long day. So if I do not update this that often, please don't be mad. I wish that I could! i have been learning about creative writing though and wish I had some time to do a little free writing. Maybe I will..

Butterfly Kisses
I played this song for my dad on Father's Day at church when I was 16. I remember that it was about the only time that he ever came to church. He was so proud of me for playing this song and thanked me. I was so happy that he came and watched me and was happy he was proud of me.
But this is not the relationship that I have with my dad. I wish I had this. I have always wanted this. I went over to my dad's tonight to do laundry. After I was done he walked me out to my car and started talking to me. He has been really down recently for a lot of financial reasons. He started telling me just about how it made him sad that this is what his life is like. That life will go on without him. That I have moved on to a life and left him behind. He knows that I love him, but I do not like him. He said that my brother told him he has 2 years to live with all of the drinking and smoking he does. And that when he dies to make sure to leave him with the Wednesday trash.
I hate that he jokes like that. It makes me sad that his life is the way that it is. My dad and I have d a rocky relationship for years now. I was angry for a very long time. But after my mom died, things changed. He is the only parent that I have now. I wish we could be close. But I don't always like to be around him when he drinks and gets mean. It breaks my heart to think about everything. I love my dad so much and only want the best for him. I hate that he thinks so poorly of everyone. I wish he could move on from the past like I have.
Tonight just made me feel very sad. I was thinking about times as a little girl when my daddy was a hero. When he played with us and always could make me laugh. I miss that. Obviously I am an adult now and things are going to be different. I just wish that I coud be close with him and still have that relationship. It does make me feel very alone. That security of a family is not there for me.
I wish I could fix this. Make all of the bad go away. But I know that will not happen. I just told my dad that I love him. And I support him and will try my best to call him and see him more often. After losing my mom, I know how it feels to have regret. I can't go through the rest of my life regretting something else the same way. I can move forward and do my best to have a good relationship with my dad. And at least let him know how much I love him. That is the best I can do.

Blackboard
I need a minute to rant about my blackboard experience. I should be doing my homework, but I have plenty of time to blog right now because I cannot even access the site where all of my course information is being held.
For those of you who do not know what blackboard is let me explain. It is something that ASU (and many other universities and colleges) use to communicate with students. I have all of the classes that I am enrolled in on it, each with it's own page. On that page is the syllabus, list of assignments, rubrics, discussion boards to communicate with other students in the class, and places to submit your assignments.
Obviously this is something important that I need to access. Well this school year, they decided to "upgrade" the system. They have been having issues since the week before school started with this. It is constantly saying that blackboard is temporarily unavailable. So frustrating when you are trying to do homework! It has only worked a handful of times for me. Well I have an assignment due by midnight tonight for one of my classes. I also have lots of other stuff I need to be working on for other classes if I don't want to get behind. Well it is down. Again. They sent out an email earlier today saying they were sorry for all of the problems but it should be working agian soon. NOT. Just sending an email doe snot make it all better!
Get your act together blackboard! I have homework to do!

A distant memory
Seeing you fills me with a mix of emotions. I am consumed with saddness. Saddness because of how close we used to be. How at one point, I called you on a daily basis, told you every detail of my life, you told me about yours, supported eachother in goals and life, laughed over the dumbest things. For six years I called you one of my closest friends. Now I see you across the room, we steal a glance, and then quickly look away, pretending as if all of those years of memories never really happened.
Do you know I am hurting? Do you care? Are you hurting too?
Things could never be the same. You betrayed me. You changed. You used me. You hurt me.
That does not mean that I do not miss the memeories. The fun that we had together. Too much of a history to just forget about. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed with the urge to call you. Tell you about something that happened in my life that at one point we would have laughed or freaked out over together. But I can't.
Friendship break ups are harder than relationships sometimes. Especially becuase they usually last longer and you have so much trust and time invested in them. We had more than just a friendship. We were involved in eachothers lives so much. Shared the same activities. I think I miss that the most about you. That passion we shared together. Something i can do with others, but it never really is the same. That was a huge part of my life, and now it is no longer.
It is hard to move on from a frienship. After you get over the initial hate and anger from what they did to you, you then remember the good times and the sadness hits. That is where I am now. I will move on eventually. But you will always be in my thoughts and memories.
I wish you well my old dear friend. I am walking away with a trail of tears in my tracks.

First Day Jitters
Today marked my very first day in the Professional Teacher Program at ASU. I only had 2 of my 5 classes today, but I felt like enough happened that it was worth blogging about!
![]() |
| I have to wear this badge at all times. I'm pretty legit. |
So off to my next class. I have to drive to another location for it. I walk into this elementary school and into this classroom with a jolly old man greeting me. There are books, colors, pictures, and kid things everywhere. I continue to walk in and see that there are 5 tables, all with little kid chairs around them. You know, the ones that are for little people under 3feet tall. I then see that I will be sitting in those chairs during this class. Oh man. The class begins and I already love it. It is teaching language and arts (one of my favorite subjects!) and the teacher is hilarious! He is goofy, corny, a huge dork, and knows it! I can't wait for that class again.
I already have a list of homework that is due for next week and I am about to start it! I really want to stay caught up, if not ahead on all of my homework and projects for this semester. I am determined to get straight A's. I know that I am capable of doing it as long as I put forth the effort. I have no excuse because I will be working less and am doing something that I love.
I am such a dork, but I love school and am so excited! I will definitely have to blog about the next 3 classes. Two on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. I also find out my placement for my internship tomorrow at a meeting. Hopefully I get something good!
Off to do some homework :)

A week off work?
It has been a long summer! That is putting it in a nutshell for you! I have been working my butt off and not requested any significant time off. So I actually got some PTO and am taking a week off before school starts! It has been amazing so far. It has been so nice to relax and spend some times with friends that I haven't had a chance to see in a long time. Also, since I got my financial aide, I was able to have extra money to do some things that I have been putting off for a very long time. Don't let people fool you, money does make things easier, and therefore happier. Haha. No really. Obviously there is more to happiness than money, but it definitely makes life easier and less stressful! Wish it was always like this! But I need to be good and save! I had my shopping spree with Beth on Saturday. I still have a few more errands to run, but it feels good to be so productive! I have been on the go since my vacation started! But it is a better on the go then just working, that is for sure!
Did I mention that I am getting a massage tomorrow? Because it will be phenomenal.
Honestly, I am really excited for school to be starting. I will be going and getting the books that I need for my classes tomorrow. Besides that, I am pretty much ready! I got some supplies today and already got new clothes. I am such a dork and put it all together tonight. I feel like I am still in elementary school! (I will be again soon!! yay!) I went today to go get another background check for my internship. I know that they don't want creeps in the schools, but seriously. So much!! But it was fun to go down to the district office. It made me feel so old! But excited to start my new career. Is it graduation yet? 21 more months to go for that... not like I am counting or anything... haha
I just finished watching Mr. Holland's Opus. What a fantastic movie. It makes me miss playing my flute a lot. I am also obsessed with the song Someone to Watch Over Me. Love Love Love. (Click on the song title to listen to it if you haven't heard it before.)
I feel like I should have a lot more to write about. But I can't think of anything really that significant to put in here. That may mean I am boring, but that isn't always a bad thing, trust me!
Well it is getting late and I would like to have another productive day tomorrow! Here's to the last 2 days of summer! :)

The Bachelor
I have a guilty pleasure: The Bachelor. I love it. I know that it is silly, but I get a joy out of finding out who will win and definitely seeing all of the hot men that are on it! Well last night was the season finale of the Bachelorette. My favorite, Chris, was let go before the end. I felt so sad for him! If I could pick a dream man, it would be him. I know that he will probably be the next Bachelor. Now, if I was about 50 pounds thinnner, and a lot richer, and done with my degree, I would totally apply for the show so I could compete with other women to win his heart. So I thought it would be fun to see exactly what you have to do to apply. It was more crazy than I actually thought!
They ask for your height, weight, hair color, eye color, age, passport, how much money you make a year, where you went to school, what degree you got, where did you grow up, any crimes, arrested, ever filed for bankruptcy, what kind of alcoholic beverages you drink, if you have been married, details about it, children, are you genuinely looking to get married, ideal mate in terms of physical attraction and personaility, how many relationships you have been in, how and why the ended, hobbies, unique talent you are most proud of, 3 adjectives that describe you, tattoos, accomplishment you are most proud of, why havent you found the man of your dreams, 15 pictures, close ups and full body, a video of yourself.
Dang!!!!

Time sure does fly!
Wow! It is August! Hard to believe. The summer is mostly over. I am sad in some ways because I will be so busy with both school and work. But I am mostly excited because I am ready for school and to finish my degree! Plus I will only be working 4 days a week now! yay! It will be the first time I will be able to do that in years. Hopefully this semester will go a little easier for me this way. I will be able to focus more on school.
My little brother turned 21 Thursday. Wow! It is insane he is that old! That makes me even older! ha! I took him out to Mill Ave for his birthday. I felt bad because most of his friends are not old enough to go yet and I wanted him to have a good time. So I offered to be the DD. Let me tell you... I think I am getting too old to go out like that anymore! The next day I was so tired. So instead of having a crazy night, I went over to Beth's house for a chill night in. We played with her daughter (<3), and then went out to eat dinner. And then we went to the store and bought all of the ingredients for homemade apple empanadas! I had to make them for a pot luck at work. Such a fun night! Baking is way more fun when you are doing it with your best friend! And they turned out fabulous! Everyone at work absolutely loved them! They said it was the highlight of the entire meal and all wanted more! Maybe I should cook and bake more often.. I would really like to. It is just that I dont have a lot of time and my kitchen so sooooo tiny. No really haha.
I feel like I am really boring with nothing that new or entertaining to write in here recently besides this. I feel sometimes like this blog should mean something. Have a theme like Julie and Julia. But then I remember, this is just me. Kinda boring with little bursts of excietment and cheesy randomness!
So since this blog is about how much time flies.. I found an old "survey" that I filled out a few years ago (June 1, 2005 and December 27, 2005) and then . I am going to put my answers from that an then my new ones in bold! Should be slightly entertaining!
